Don Owen has been continuously involved in the transportation industry for more than 60 successful years. Along with his wife Janice, he built a presence in the auto industry for he and his family. Getting involved in the business in 1947, Don and Janice have been car dealers in the Northeastern United States for Pontiac, Toyota, Jaguar, Chrysler, Plymouth, Mazda and Jeep as well as building a Reputation for selling high quality pre-owned cars and trucks. More than twenty years ago the Owens' teamed up with Pat Elia. Pat started in the industry at a young age of seventeen, owning his own service station. Over the past forty plus years in the business Pat has developed a great deal of knowledge, skill and industry experience. After a 20 year career in the family's business in New York, Don Owen Jr. attended Penn State University. Following graduation in 1994, Don Jr. joined his mom and dad in Florida adding his talent to the Owen Motors management team as inventory manager over the 2 Sarasota, Florida locations, Don Jr. oversees a collection of more than 200 units.
Don Owen and Pat Elia have been avid Rver's since the 1970s. Now in his eighties, Don Sr. is always eager to "preach what he practices". That is the fact that he logged more than 30,000 miles driving his 40 foot diesel motorcoach across the country during 2006 and 2007.
